Oh, I’m so glad to see the pictures of the Whitehorse online! My dad, Richard Sherman, drove truck for the Whitehorse 15 years ago or so. And my step-grandmother, Lori, was the cook for the cookhouse during the same time. I lived there with my dad for about 4 months and loved it. Spent a lot of time in the barn with the horses. And a branding was held during the time I was there. That was a great experience. The cowboys roped and branded while Gramma Lori made’em little steers and I gave them their shots. I've long wanted to see what’s become of the Ranch and am pleased to see it’s beautiful as ever. Someday, I’ll need to make reservations for the bunkhouse, or even a summer tipi, and bring my husband out to see it. Adrienne P. Sherman - February 2008 The Whitehorse Ranch brings back a lot of fond and fuzzy memories as a little girl in the early 70’s. My grandfather was the shop foreman for the ranch for many years in the 70’s and later semi-retired to Fields Oregon, where he was a mechanic and general handyman for the owners of the garage and soda fountain. Back then, I recall the sight of the ranch on our first visit, it was such a long dusty road from the highway, and there was a final hill to climb and at the top, you looked down the sweeping hillside, the Ranch and the main buildings and homes shown majestically in the middle of nowhere. (the memories of this little girl!) My younger sister fished and caught (seemed like 100’s of) little trout out of the babbling creek that wound through the general property and buildings.... it was a thrill for city girls to drop in a line and out came a fish -- they were smelly, and boney for dinner, but grandpa made us eat them anyway! I remember driving into Whitehorse Canyon, and being so awe-struck by the towering sides of the rocks and the beautiful sound of willows and water running through the center. Ironically, I am such a city girl anymore. I would love to visit and take hold of those memories again! Thank you for having this website for all to visit. It is a very special place in Oregon. Robin E. (Kerr) Becic - Portland, Oregon - August 2008 Sharon & I wanted to write and thank you for permitting us to be guests at the Whitehorse Ranch. We were successful catching and releasing several Lahontan cutthroat trout near the line cabin as you had recommended. Would you please thank Chuck for his efforts on our behalf. He went out of his way to make us comfortable and welcome. On our return, we spent several days in Sisters where Sharon rode at the Black Butte Stables. She enjoyed riding your horses and everyone there helped make her ride a pleasure.
