- Fields Station is about 36 miles west/northwest of our location. Fields Station serves excellent hamburgers and milkshakes. From Fields you can take the Diamond Loop with its fascinating geology and visit the historic Peter French Round Barn.
- The Frenchglen Hotel is about 36 miles. Frenchglen Hotel, 39184 Highway 205, Frenchglen, OR 97736, (541) 493-2825 ... is really nice in a rustic way and althout the food is simple there is some variety and it is very well prepared. Frenchglen is about 50 miles past Fields and on the end of the Steens Mountain Loop so if you and your friend have an offroad capable vehicle with good tires and a thirst for a little adventure you could drive the Steens Mountain loop
